Singapore has first H1N1 flu case; woman quarantined

A 22 year old Singaporean was being quaranteed in hospital after
being confirmed the city's state first H1N1 flu case on wednesday.

The woman was arrived from New York by Singapore Airlines on Tuesday and was not picked up by the thermal scanners as she did not have a fever then.

Now she was in stable condition.

After waiting for about 15 minutes, I got my McValue meal!

I ordered 1 set of McValue Big Mac set @ 7.90 + and 1 set of Mcvalue Mc Chiken set @ 5.90+.

And many people who havent come for this offer will often doubt that their burgers or french fries will shrink in size according to the value they pay for the meals.

That is totally NOT TRUE!!

I bought this Doremon @RM 3. That is their gift for the Happy Meal Set.

It was so cute!

I will revisit McD again soon for this great offer.

Dumpling ,more and more dumpling!

The dumpling season will be on next Thursday, and the Chinese Association held a meaningful event today (24/5) to promote this culture.

At the event, you can see dumpling.

Dumpling..
And more dumpling, of different shapes and flavours.

What more amazing was that there was a dumpling testing section whereby the dumplings were free for testing!!

See, they cut the dumplings into pieces so that everyone will have the chance to taste different types of dumpling.

Another tables of dumplings for testing. There were about 6-8 tables.

And when talking about free food, everyone of course get excited!

The dumplings were finishing fast!

Just look at the crowd at the Dewan Suarah!

And even our foreign friend was interested in dumpling!

He was trying to wrap a dumpling with guides from the organiser. Look at his confusing face, suppose it was not a easy task huh?

And there was also one dumpling wrapping competition too! and you think women rule the kitchen?

You will be surprised that the competition only allow male to take part in it. And still receive massive responce.

Miri City Day Celebration 2009

Miri City Day Celebration 2009 was held in City Fan.

I visited it at about 6 pm and the event has not started yet. So i went to visit the food stall.

And surprisingly they were giving out free popcorn!!



This was my cup of popcorn.yummy yummy..it was made on the spot.





And when we talked about DIGI, we cant leave out the YELLOW MAN!



So happy to spot him at the City Fan. It was the first time I saw a yellow man other than the one in TV commercial singing " I will follow you."

Later I visited the food stall. Various hotel and restaurant were taking part.

Very well organising food fair.

Dinner at 皇城

I had my dinner at 皇城 （near the Bintang Megamall area) last night.

We ordered butter milk chicken, bilin, and little kailan.

The butter milk chicken is different from other place in which they are totally dry. The chicken are being deepdried and match perfectly with the crispy butter milk.

This is the fried bidin with red wine. The bidin is very fresh and you can hear the crunchy sound in your mouth when you bite it!

This is the little kai lan with butter milk.


Other than main dish, they have food like fried kueh tiao, mee and etc. The pics shown is the sizzling hot plate kueh tiao. Quite a big portion and filled with vegetables, crab meat, and egg!

Dumpling Season

It will be dumpling season soon.

Wonder how the dumpling in your plate is being made?

First, selection of leaves.

The leaves can be bought a shop. However, it need to be cleaned several times before used to remove the sand and particles.

Next, the ingredient: peanuts, pork, mushroom, glutinous rice and egg york.

When finished wrapping, tied it in a bundle and it's ready to cooked it in the pot.

This is the cooked dumpling, ready to be served!

Popular Bintang Megamall (Updated)

If you refer to my previous blog about Popular, the new Popular was moved to the new location on 15th May.
However, when I went there again at the next day (16th May) at 2.30pm, it was closed.

I thought they were just having some cleaning being done, until i saw this notice on the window.

What? The shop was closed due to leaking problem?

What a big dissapointment.

So as others, dissapointedly walked away.

Later I walked to Toys'r'us, found out that they had the same problem too. However, they were not closing down but just having few cardboard on the floor to adsorb the water.

I hope the leakage problem will be solved quickly so that I can visit the bookstore again.

Anyone know if it is back to business today?

Malaysia confirms first case of A(H1N1) flu (Update)

Malaysia has confirmed first case of A (H1N1) flu.

According to the news (THe Star), the victim is a 21 year old student who came back from United States.

He was on MAS flight MH901 from Newark on wednesday.

New Popular Opening today!

The Popular in Bintang Megamall is finally opened today! (15th May).

The bookshop is situated at the new wing of the 2nd floor.

This is how it look like. It's definetly wider than the previous one and it is fully air con now.

So you won't sweat like before while they were having renovation in their old outlet.


After the moving, this is how the old outlet look like.

Cafe Rosita Lunch Buffet

I was in Cafe Rosite, Dynasty Hotel for buffet lunch yesterday.

This is the chicken Roulade with special sauce. It taste a bit like 春卷 (chinese food), whereby the chicken is wrapped by skin and with mince meat inside.

This is the dessert area, with varites of pudding, cakes and jelly.

This is the fruit cream puff.

This is the fruit fresh cream cake.

Others choices of cake including chocolate brownies and pudding. Unfortunately cheese cake is not served.

My plate of desserts.

This is the salad corner, which i reckon have at least 10 different types of salad being served.

Normal salad with carrot, raisin and grapes.

Salad with prawn in sauce.

Salad with tomatos, cucumber and salad sauce.

Fruit salad with pineapple, cucumber.

NIce chance to taste different types of salad.

For the main dish, it has fried rice, fried kueh tiao, chicken, lamb, beef, fish, 2 local vegetables and soup.

I have no pics of the main dish. Suppose I was too busy eating.

Overall, although the choices of desserts are not much, the main dish will sufficient enough to stuff you.
